I graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the California College of Arts (and Crafts, as it was called then), Oakland, in 1972. During the years I spent in art school, I became interested in what felt to me like a mystical state that I fell into when I was creating art, and I turned my attention to trying to understand that. To that end, I began working with one of the pioneers of the Human Potential Movement, Claudio Naranjo, MD, during those years and that has led to decades of inner work.
While I never wanted to rely on my artwork to earn a living, as I felt that it would lose its magic for me, it has been a companion throughout this journey. I love to show on paper and canvas the beauty that I see in the world around me, a beauty that is the embodiment of our deepest nature. In recent years, I’ve become more and more interested in plein air and landscape painting, and have begun working with pastel in addition to oil.
